Canto doloroso e Danza for Violoncello solo
June 23rd, 2:00 p.m. at the Church St.Peter in Freistadt, Austria
The next world premiere is coming soon: At the Austrian festival Landgänge in the churches of St.Peter near Freistadt, my Canto doloroso a Danza will be presented for the first time to an audience by wonderful cellist Anja Schröder. Anja was a chamber music partner in several ensembles during our common study time in Freiburg. She has been member of the Duisburg Philharmonic since 1994, and is particularly involved in chamber music from baroque works in historical performance practice to world premieres of contemporary works. The idea for Canto came up to me when we met since a long time again last year on the occasion of the summer courses in Leutkirch, where she accompanied her viola playing son.
End of academic Year 2018/19
The academic year has now ended. We can look back on a very successful course with great progress and sometimes outstanding achievements in the student concerts. It was a wonderful beginning for me in this grandiose place with equally friendly and professional leadership under President Paulo Baglieri. The students were Theresa Clauberg, Kana Himeno, Oliver Rau, Tatuarttu Ruponen and Elisabeth Schöneck. Great thanks you to everyone involved for this positive experience! And attached already a reference to the following academic year.

Bach Sei Solo
„Essi sono, é vero, il frutto di una lunga e laboriosa fatica“ (They are truly the fruit of a long and laborious work). Of course, Mozart’s famous words from the dedication of the so-called „Haydn Quartets“ are cited here in a completely different context of incomparably lower significance. But with this publication I hope you don’t resent me to feel - if not as a father - at least as an obstetrician. So I’m delighted to announce the release of my interpretation of Bach’s 6 solo sonatas and partitas in July. Many thanks to the great sound engineer Thorsten Weigelt, who was an incredible support in this project - not only in good, but also in bad times! I am no less grateful to Ludger Böckenhoff with his entire team of Audite, who stayed loyal in difficult times as well. I am absolutely aware of the fact - especially in our modern world - that this can’t be taken for granted. So I am happily looking forward to the reactions to this publication. Everyone who knows me must be aware of my particularly intense relationship with Bach. I am very happy with this recording.
